Drafted white paper outlining public policy rationale for federal funding of the human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine. The 2007 federal budget allocated $300 million towards the client's vaccine. |

Rx&D |
Drafted the Rx&D (Canada's Research-based Pharmaceutical Companies) Parliamentary submission on Canada’s Access to Medicines Regime and coordinated the pharma industry’s interactions with elected officials during the government's review of the legislation. Drafted Rx&D’s Parliamentary submission regarding the World Health Organization's "Global Strategy on Public Health, Innovation, and Intellectual Property Rights". |

Served as Legislative Assistant to the federal Minister of Health under Prime Minister Paul Martin. Briefed Minister and Parliamentary Secretary daily in preparation for Question Period, and secured political support for government health bills; managed team of 27 officials in development of legislative approaches, speeches and media lines on issues ranging from regulation of transfats, to pandemic-preparedness, to compensation for tainted blood transfusion recipients, to increased funding for health systems strengthening. |

Received the Assistant Deputy Minister's Award for "Excellence in Collaborative Leadership" for her work in the development of Bill C-9, Canada's Access to Medicines Regime. Sought and won stakeholder input and support for the government’s plan to regulate the cross-border sale of pharmaceuticals; translated consensus view into policy plan and execution map for government to follow. |

Working with a team of writers in Europe, North America and Asia, drafted the Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders submission to the XVI International Conference on AIDS; crafted and edited editorials, press releases and newsletter articles regarding the impacts of the WTO TRIPS Agreement. Chaired press conference with international media at XVI International AIDS Conference; media-trained MSF staff. |

Working with staff in England, Switzerland, South Africa, Australia, Canada and the U.S., drafted an advocacy paper for the 2009 World Health Assembly in support of World Vision’s global child health campaign. Developed speaking notes for senior staff; developed strategic approaches for outreach to Prime Minister's Office and NGO leaders. |

Negotiated with British Columbia government for increased funding for specialist doctors, using combination of direct meetings with officials, letter-writing campaigns, mobilization of third-party supporters and media relations to achieve the goal. |

Managed national team – based in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver – in the delivery of a strategic communications and marketing campaign for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, an agency of the New Zealand government; drafted client's strategy plan and oversaw its execution; managed budget and workloads of the team, from policy development to campaign roll out. |
